Date for Round Eight and New Poll

Round Eight will commence on Saturday March 29th.

During Round Seven a couple of people* asked whether a time limit should be imposed on books promised via this VBB.

Based on other VBBs I've observed I think we're doing pretty well, but I've put up a poll to guage others' thoughts. Please feel free to use the 'comments' option for this post if you'd like to share your thoughts on this matter.

*both people who made queries have since received the book(s) they were waiting on.

I'd prefer some sort of way of acknowledging that some books are offered, but still need to be read (my current problem, I offered up far too many TBR books the last two rounds, I'll probably be voluntarily skipping the next round unless there's something super tempting). I know that'll need more input from you, but I think having some sort of deadline will need input from you too. :)

Out of curiosity, what will happen with us people who hold books for too long? Are we banished until we get our act together?

cheers!

well personally I'm in favour of no limit. I think the 'Books in transit' summary is a good indicator of who is slow sending books and if anyone selects a book from them they do so forewarned.

it seems I'm in the minority in this belief though, so I imagine I'll be asking anyone in arrears to get their promised books out before their turn.

I don't think there should be a time limit either. That way the sending of books can be worked out between the sender and the recipient (for instance, if you are sending that person a book from bookobsessed, etc). Plus I don't think any of us are in need of books IMMEDIATELY! lol!

And I like the 'who's sending what to whom' section. It's a good way to keep track, because I never remember what books are coming my way.

I don't think there should be a limit, but I get worried when someone keeps offering books when they already are behind on lots. Does that make sense? I understand that people are offering TBRs, but I don't think that makes it easier to get in front.
